2022 Apfelfest in Zoar set for Oct. 8-9

ZOAR − Historic Zoar Village celebrates its heritage in apple growing and cider making at Apfelfest, a family-friendly event on Oct. 8 and 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 12 and younger.

Activities include cider pressing and tasting, apple butter making, historical demonstrations and children’s crafts. Historic Zoar Village will offer apple pies in the bakery and candy apples for sale, as well as a mum sale. All proceeds go toward the site’s educational programing, outreach activities and architectural restorations.

Juried craft vendors will be onsite selling a wide range of hand-made, fall-related arts and crafts. A beer tent will feature hard cider and beers by Lockport brewery.

Special Saturday-only activities include archery and a pie-baking contest at 1 p.m. The baking contest will be judged by local restauranteurs in Zoar and nearby Bolivar. Bakers interested in entering their recipes can call 330-874-3011 for more information.

On Sunday only, children can meet with and learn about live farm animals.
