2022 Arizona High School Sports Awards to feature Eno Benjamin as guest speaker

The Arizona Republic is proud to announce Eno Benjamin, running back for the Arizona Cardinals, as the special guest speaker at the 2022 Arizona High School Sports Awards. The awards show will be held at 7:30 p.m., June 11, at ASU Gammage Theatre.

The Arizona High School Sports Awards are produced in partnership with Diamond Kitchen and Bath and Mega Furniture.

The show honors more than 200 high school athletes from across the state of Arizona, as well as awarding players of the year for more than 20 sports. It will also include several major awards, including overall Girls Athlete of the Year, Boys Athlete of the Year, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year and the Courage Award.

“The Arizona High School Sports Awards are special because we get to honor the best young student athletes in the state, and I’m proud to be able to host the event,” Benjamin said. “These students have put in a lot of work and made a lot of sacrifices, and it’s great to be able to celebrate their accomplishments.”

Benjamin, a 4-star recruit out of high school, made a name for himself at Arizona State. During his sophomore season in 2018, he broke the school record for rushing yards in a game. During his junior season, he rushed for more than 1,000 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. After deciding to forgo his senior season, he was drafted in the seventh round of the NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He scored his first career touchdown last season.
