From Autoweek

  • BMW is collaborating with NYC-based brand Kith for a special M4

  • The M4 Competition will only be offered in white, black and silver

  • Only 150 will be built; they're on sale now

We’ve previously seen automakers collaborate with brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermes and others, usually one-offs for special occasions. Today we learned the BMW is partnering with New York-base brand Kith, and the result is what you see here.

This special, new BMW M4 Competition with the funny nose was styled by Kith founder Ronnie Fieg, who already owns a classic E30 BMW M3, and this new one is styled to look like his old one. The M4 Competition by Kith is available for preorder today, and only 150 will be built.

Fieg also created The Kith for BMW Collection “featuring apparel and accessories inspired by classic BMW design elements and exclusively available through Kith’s retail locations beginning October 23. The collection, featuring 94 styles of apparel and accessories, is Kith’s largest single offering to date.”

“Everything we work on at Kith has to come from an authentic place,” says Fieg. “Some of my favorite memories from growing up came from going to visit my grandfather and riding around in his BMWs in the 1980s. I remember he had an E21 320i and that his prized possession was a white E30 M3. These moments in my life really shaped my passion for BMW, so working on this project with them has brought everything full circle.”

The color on this one is called Cinnabar red, though the ones you’ll be able to buy only come in frozen black, frozen dark silver and frozen brilliant white. Frozen, by the way, is what BMW calls its matte finishes. The Roundel looks a little different too, thanks to Fieg’s touch. It adds an extra ring around the badge in light blue, dark blue and red. The rear also sees a black Kith logo with the tricolor BMW M stripes.

The BMW M4 Competition x Kith is available for preorder at BMWUSA.com and the price is $109,250 plus destination. It will be considered a 2022 model year. The standard 503-hp M4 Competition Coupe, in case you were wondering, stickers for $75,695.
