2022 All-COAC football team: Mustang's Jacobe Johnson named Player of the Year

For the second straight season, Jacobe Johnson has received a Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Player of the Year award.

The COAC recently announced its All-Conference football awards, and the top honor for any player went to Johnson, a Mustang senior.

Last season, he shared the Player of the Year award with Marcus Dockins Jr. of Moore. This year, Johnson is the sole recipient. The OU commit was a standout receiver and defensive back for the Class 6A-I Broncos as they went 8-3 and finished second in their district.

Coach of the Year accolades went to Tucker Barnard of Stillwater and Wade Standley of Deer Creek. The Pioneers were district champions and went undefeated for their first state title since 1967. The Antlers finished second in their district behind Choctaw and compiled a 10-2 record.

This is Standley’s second consecutive Coach of the Year honor.

Stillwater and Deer Creek are also co-team champions. Voting took place before the Pioneers beat the Antlers in the state semifinals.

Here is the full list of All-Conference awards.
