2022 election: Incumbents carry 2 contested New Castle County races

New Castle County voters had only two contested county races to decide Tuesday, and in both of them, incumbents easily won reelection, according to unofficial results.

Democrat incumbent Scott Phillips won another term as New Castle County Sheriff after receiving 113,506 votes, around 85% of the votes, over non-partisan challenger John Machurek.

In the other contested race, Democrat incumbent Dee Durham defeated Republican challenger Jamie Collins for the District 2 New Castle County Council seat, receiving 11,911 votes, just over 60%.

The remaining positions for New Castle County's elected officials went unopposed.
