2022 midterm election in Maryland sets many firsts

The nation's eyes are on Maryland, which marked several firsts in the midterm elections. The top tier of elected officials are coming to the table with much diversity. With his victory, Wes Moore became Maryland's first Black governor and the third Black candidate in the country to be elected governor. Lt. Gov.-elect Arunah Miller is the first woman of color and Asian immigrant to hold the position. Anthony Brown became the first Black attorney general in Maryland. And, Brooke Lierman is the first woman elected comptroller of Maryland.
