2022 Morgan County Fair gets underway Friday, here is the schedule of events

The smell of fried food and sounds of screaming locals will soon fill the air at the Morgan County Fairgrounds, 1749 Hospital Dr., Martinsville, as the 2022 fair is set to begin this week.

As usual, this year's fair will include a midway and live entertainment for all members of the family to enjoy.

The fair will get underway bright and early at 8 a.m. Friday with the 4-H Bicycle Rodeo at the SERTOMA/Beef Food Stand and 4-H Dog Show at the show arena.

Below is the schedule of events for this year's Morgan County Fair.

Friday, July 29 — sponsored by Purdue Extension 4-H Youth Development

  • Noon: Judging of open class at the Home and Family Arts Building

  • 3 to 5:30 p.m.: State Fair project check out

  • 6 to 10 p.m.: Merchant Building open

  • 7:30 to 10 p.m.: Open House Fair Preview at Home and Family Arts Building

  • 8 p.m.: Martinsville Community Band and Taps at Free Stage

Saturday, July 30 — sponsored by Morgan County Farm Bureau

  • Noon: Home and Family Arts Building and Merchant Building open to the public until 10 p.m.

  • 2 p.m.: Open Class Sheep Show at Show Arena

  • 4 p.m.: Little Miss and Mister Contest at the Free Stage

  • 6 to 7:30 p.m.: Derrick Weidner at the Free Stage

  • 7 p.m.: Rodeo at the Grandstand: admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12 years old and free for those 5 and under

Sunday, July 31 — sponsored by Morgan County Fair

  • Noon: 4-H and Community Building and Merchant Building open until 10 p.m.

  • 1 p.m. Home and Family Arts Building open until 10 p.m.

  • 2:30 p.m.: Mini 4-H pet parade at the Show Arena

  • 3 p.m.: 4-H Goat Pet Show/Goat Olympic at the Show Arena

  • 6 p.m.: Stock Truck and Tractor Pull at the Grandstand: admission is $10 for adults, $5 for those between 6 and 12 and children 5 and under are free. Pit Gate passes are $15.

  • 6:30 p.m.: Poor Jack Amusements on the Midway

Monday, Aug. 1 — sponsored by Morgan County Fair

  • 6 to 8 a.m.: WCBK Morning Show at the WCBK Radio Active Barn

  • 9 a.m.: 4-H Poultry Show and Mini 4-H Poultry Show at the Rabbit/Poultry Barn

  • Noon: Home and Family Arts Building, the 4-H and Community Building as well as the Merchant Building open until 10 p.m.

  • 12:30 p.m.: President's Report from WCBK Radio Active Barn

  • 4 p.m.: 4-H Rabbit Showmanship at Rabbit/Poultry Building

  • 6 p.m.: Family night on the Midway

  • 6:30 p.m.: Eddie Vanzant at the Free Stage

  • 7 p.m.: ATVs and Quads at the Grandstand: admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children between 6 and 12 and free for children 5 and younger. Also at 7 p.m. is 4-H Rabbit show and Fair Contests at the WCBK Radio Active Barn.

Tuesday, Aug. 2 — sponsored by SCI REMC

  • 7:30 to 9 a.m.: Farmers Breakfast sponsored by Morgan County Soil and Water Conservation District

  • 9 a.m.: 4-H Cat Show and 4-H Small Animal Show at the Show Arena

  • Noon: 4-H and Community, Merchant and Home and Family Arts buildings open until 10 p.m.

  • 12:30 p.m.: President's Report from WCBK Radio Active Barn

  • 3 to 6 p.m.: Fair News from WCBK Radio Active Barn

  • 6 p.m.: Family night on the Midway

  • 7 p.m.: Fair Contests at the WCBK Radio Active Barn

  • 7 p.m.: Dirt Bike Racing at the grandstand: admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children between 6 and 12 and free for those 5 and younger.

  • 7 p.m.: Rhythm Chasers Clogging at the Free Stage

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Baker's Best entries arrive in the Kendall Room

  • Noon: 4-H and Community Building, Merchant Building as well as the Home and Family Arts Building opens until 10 p.m.

  • 12:30 p.m.: President's Report at the WCBK Radio Active Barn

  • 12:30 p.m: Pedal Tractor Pull at the Morgan County Antique Machinery Barn

  • 1 p.m.: Judging for Baker's Best

  • 1 p.m.: Kiddie Day at the Midway

  • 3 to 6 p.m.: Fiar News at the WCBK Radio Active Barn

  • 6 p.m.: 4-H Fur and Feathers finals

  • 6 p.m.: Family night at the Midway

  • 7 p.m.: Fair Contests at the WCBK Radio Active Barn

  • 7 p.m.: Journey Championship Wrestling at the Grandstand: adult admission is $10, $5 for children between 6 and 12 and free for children 5 and younger.
