The Browns aren't mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but after losing to the Baltimore Ravens 13-10 on Sunday night, things are looking bleak.

And when it comes to Cleveland football and things looking bleak, that means it may be time to start looking ahead to the 2022 NFL Draft.

Now 6-6 for the season with five games to play, the Browns currently are 15th in the draft order.

Cleveland’s history with the 15th overall pick is not good. The only time the Browns used the 15th pick of the first round, it was on Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman. He played just three seasons in the NFL, two with the Browns. For his career he had 61 receptions for 789 yards and five touchdowns in 20 games.

Since the Browns haven't had to worry about draft positioning in a little while, they may need a refresher on draft tiebreakers.

If teams have the same record at the end of the season, the first tiebreaker is strength of schedule. If teams have the same record, the team with the lower strength of schedule gets the higher pick because they’ve played an easier schedule.

After strength of schedule, division record is used if teams are in the same division. If teams are in the same conference, then conference record is used. If an AFC and NFC team happen to have the same record and strength of schedule, a coin flip takes place at the NFL Scouting Combine to determine the order.
