2022 offensive line prospect Kawika Rogers commits to Oregon Ducks

On Monday afternoon, the Oregon Ducks and coach Dan Lanning received a commitment from the 2022 class.

Kawika Rogers, a three-star offensive lineman out of Hawaii, announced he was pledging to the Ducks program.

He is the first 2022 high school player that has committed to Lanning's program since he's taken over as coach. Transfer (quarterback) Bo Nix, (defensive lineman) Sam "Taki" Taimai, (cornerback) Christian Gonzalez, and 2023 cornerback recruit Cole Martin have also committed to the program.

The 6-foot-6, 327-pound Rogers is the No. 3 high school player in the state of Hawaii, according to 247Sports Composite. Last season, Rodgers helped Kapaa High to its first-ever state championship.

Recently, Rogers was one of the many recruits in town for a visit to Oregon. He also had offers from his home state Hawaii, Arizona State and Fresno State.

Lanning still has a lot of work to do before National Signing Day Feb. 2 as the Ducks 2022 class is No. 64, according to 247Sports. The Ducks recruiting class is also ranked ninth in the Pac-12.

Before previous coach Mario Cristobal left to become Miami's coach, Oregon's 2022 recruiting class was ranked ninth in the country and first in the Pac-12.

Rodgers is the 10th player that has committed to Oregon's 2022 class. Safety Trejon Williams and defensive lineman Gracen Halton have verbally committed to the program but haven't signed.

During the early National Signing Day period last month, cornerback Jalil Tucker, linebackers Devon Jackson and Harrison Taggart, defensive linemen Ben Roberts and Sir Mells, offensive lineman Michael Wooten and athlete and defensive lineman Anthony Jones all signed letters of intent.
