Ohio and Kentucky voters made their opinions known Tuesday in a variety of local, state and federal contests.

A lot of national attention was drawn to Ohio's U.S. Senate race, an open seat to replace retiring Sen. Rob Portman, and to Kentucky's abortion-related amendment.

This was also the first general election using new congressional, state House and state Senate districts. All three Ohio maps were declared unconstitutional by the Ohio Supreme Court, but were still used for this election.

All results are unofficial until outstanding, eligible absentee ballots and provisional ballots are counted in the coming days. Unofficial results were still outstanding in several Kentucky counties Wednesday morning.
