Here are the 2022 Veterans Day events around Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky

It's time to honor our troops.

Generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars,” Nov. 11 was proclaimed as the first commemoration of Armistice Day by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs. It wasn't until May 13, 1938 that Nov. 11 became a legal holiday set aside to honor veterans of World War I.

But in 1954 after World War II at the encouragement of the veterans service organizations, the Act of 1938 was changed, replacing the word "Armistice" with "Veterans." Now 68 years later, citizens across the country hold special celebrations and events for all U.S. military veterans, and Greater Cincinnati is no exception.
