Before any hardware was handed out at the 2023 BET Awards, stars first took a walk down the red carpet. This year, celebrities strutted their stuff on a pink version of the carpet showing off their unique attire and posing for fans and the cameras. Unlike other, more buttoned up shows, the BET Awards celebrate individuality and cutting edge looks.

The red carpet got underway outside of the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles where the 2023 BET Awards is taking place. Along with a star-studded lineup, the show is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.

Trends on the 2023 carpet included sheer black ensembles, bright pinks and metallics. 21Ninety has rounded up some of the looks women of the red carpet wore to this year’s show.
