Now that the fate of Waystar Royco is sealed, Succession stars Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, and Jeremy Strong have a new competition: winning an Emmy Award.

With Wednesday’s announcement of the 2023 Emmy nominations, all three were chosen for Best Actor in a Drama Series. That’s the most ever in the category for a single TV program. As expected for its final season, the acclaimed HBO drama fared well with 27 total nominations, including Sarah Snook’s nod for Best Actress.

Another departing show that won big was Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso, which wasn’t far behind with 21 nominations, including Jason Sudeikis for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. HBO’s post-apocalyptic thriller The Last of Us and dark comedy The White Lotus were also among the big winners on Wednesday.

These are the 2023 Emmy nominees in the major acting, directing, writing, and overall series categories. Bolded nominees are selections that made Emmy history.
