2023 James Beard award nominees include local chef

Metro Orlando has one chef among the nominees for the 2023 James Beard awards.

Henry Moso, owner and itamae (head sushi chef) of Kabooki Sushi, is a nominee for the “Best Chef: South” award, the James Beard Foundation announced, putting him in the nation’s foodie world elite.

Beard awards are among the highest honors for the United States restaurant industry. Chefs and restaurateurs liken the awards to the Oscars of the culinary world.
