Here’s the 2023 Lexington All-City Boys Soccer Team

The Lexington Herald-Leader and Kentucky.com are proud to present the 2023 All-City High School Boys Soccer Teams as voted on by the nine coaches of Lexington’s varsity KHSAA programs.

Lafayette’s Sawyer Trowel was chosen as Lexington boys soccer player of the year.

Trowel, a senior center back who was also recently named 11th Region defender of the year by that group’s coaches, helped the Generals win both the 43rd District and 11th Region tournament championships. That marked Lafayette’s first district title since 2018 and first region title since 1990, the year it also won a state title. (As of this report the Generals remained alive as a state tournament semifinalist.)

Lafayette senior Sawyer Trowel holds up the 43rd District boys soccer championship trophy as he celebrates with teammates after the Generals defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar in overtime at Tates Creek High School on Oct. 4.
