Male High School star Kaleb Glenn, who has committed to the University of Louisville, announced via Twitter on Friday he will play his senior season of basketball at La Lumiere.

La Lumiere is a college prep boarding and day school in La Porte, Indiana.

“Thankful for Male and everyone who has made me a better person/basketball player these past 3 years!” Glenn wrote on Twitter. “I have to do what’s best for me and my development. For my senior year I will be attending La Lumiere! Let’s WORK!”

Male coach Tim Haworth confirmed Glenn’s decision.

“We had a great three years,” Haworth said. “I’m not disappointed. I wish I could coach him his senior year, but we’ll still be right there battling.”

The 6-foot-7 Glenn averaged 21.6 points and ranked fifth in the state in rebounding (12.6 rpg) last season. The Bulldogs finished 28-6 after falling to Warren Central in the first round of the Sweet 16. Glenn’s top moment may have come in the Seventh Region championship game, when his buzzer-beating jump shot clinched an 82-80 triple-overtime victory over Ballard.

He shot 64.4% from the field and expanded his game to the perimeter, knocking down 36% of his 3-point attempts (36 for 100). He was named the Seventh Region Player of the Year and first-team All-State by The Courier Journal.

Glenn is the second top player from Louisville in the Class of 2023 to announce he’s transferring for his senior season. George Washington III, another first-team All-State pick and an Ohio State commit, will leave Christian Academy to follow his father to Dayton, Ohio. George Jr. will be an assistant coach for the University of Dayton women’s basketball team.

Glenn and Washington were expected to be top contenders for Kentucky’s 2023 Mr. Basketball honor, along with North Laurel’s Reed Sheppard, who has committed to the University of Kentucky.
