2023 Lucille Nussdorfer Award recipient is Debbie Knisely

DENNISON ‒ Debbie Knisely has been named the 2023 Lucille Nussdorfer Tuscarawas County Woman of the Year.

She was honored last week during an awards presentation at the Streetside Center in Dennison. The award is presented annually by the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum.

Knisely was nominated for her work creating the Alley Cats Marketplace and Fresh the Market in downtown New Philadelphia, giving local artisans, musicians and bakers a place to sell their goods. She has helped with the creation of Artagain Alley, volunteers for several organizations including Tuscarawas United Way, Tuscarawas Philharmonic, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Little Theater, and more. Her latest project has been to help renovate another downtown building to house Lacey PAC Adaptive Movement Center to support those with special needs to learn how to dance.

Other nominees this year were Patricia Feller of Dover, Carmel Haueter of Bolivar, Emily Lane of Dover and Amy Myers of Uhrichsville.
