2023 All-MAC basketball: Akron's Reagan Bass earns spot; Kent State players honored, too
Akron sophomore forward Reagan Bass earned a spot on the All-Mid-American Conference women's basketball first team.
The league announced its All-MAC teams and Specialty Award selections for the 2022-23 season Tuesday ahead of the league tournament in a vote of the MAC's 12 head coaches.
Bass is the lone Akron or Kent State player selected to the five-player All-MAC first team. She finished the regular season ranked sixth in the league in both scoring (16.9) and rebounding (7.8). Bass also shot 50.5% from the field to rank third in the MAC and was seventh in blocked shots (1.1).
Toledo’s Quinesha Lockett was a unanimous selection for MAC Player of the Year, while Rockets coach Tricia Cullop is the coach of the year. Lockett and Cullop helped Toledo go 25-4 overall during the regular season, including a league-best 16-2 in MAC play. The Rockets enter the MAC tournament on a 13-game winning streak.
