2023 Pegasus Parade: What streets will be closed

The Pegasus Parade is this Sunday, April 30, and with it comes many street closures.

The 2023 Zoeller Pump Company Pegasus Parade starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at Broadway and Campbell streets, and will cruise west on Broadway Street for 17 blocks ending at Ninth Street. It will take about two-and-a-half hours for the entire parade to finish.

This year's parade theme is “Celebrating Derby Traditions” which, according to the Kentucky Derby Festival website, means "to showcase all that makes Derby Festival and Derby time a memorable time of year — everything from Derby Festival events, fashions and fascinators to family traditions, horse racing and springtime."

Bleacher seating is available along Broadway Street from Hancock Street to Sixth Street for $10. Reserved VIP bleacher tickets along Broadway Street between Floyd Street and Preston Street are $35 and include premium viewing in the TV zone, one parking pass for every four tickets purchased, and complimentary drinks and snacks. Tickets can be purchased through the Eventbrite platform.

The parade is part of the Kentucky Derby Festival, a series of activities around Louisville in the two weeks leading up to the May 6 Kentucky Derby.
