Organizers of the 2024 Carolinas Classic released the event’s rosters Thursday, and they feature 11 boys’ and girls’ high school basketball players from The Observer’s coverage area.

The all-star basketball game, which is scheduled to be played March 23 at Wilmington’s Hoggard High School, brings together some of the best public school athletes in North and South Carolina for two games.

The rosters were selected by the North Carolina Coaches Association and the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association.

This year’s North Carolina boys’ roster includes seven Charlotte-area players, including McDonald’s All-American Isaiah Evans, a Duke recruit. Evans is ranked among the top 10 nationally in his class.

The S.C. roster includes top 20 national recruit Cam Scott of Lexington High, who has committed to Texas.

Charlotte-area players on the N.C. boys’ roster are Evans, Central Cabarrus’ Carson and Chase Daniel; Myers Park’s Sir Mohammed and Bishop Boswell; Chambers’ Maurio Hanson; and Weddington’s Grant Hamilton.

Area players on the N.C. girls’ roster are Mallard Creek’s Lili Booker, Independence’s Kaylee Carson; and Myers Park’s Jerin Truesdale.

There is one area player on the S.C. girls’ roster: Rock Hill South Pointe’s Victoria Star Morris.

In addition to playing in the all-star games, athletes will participate in community service events, including visits to two New Hanover County elementary schools and hosting a basketball clinic for special needs children and adults.

Tickets to the games are available now for purchase online and are $10 for adults and $5 for children and students. The girls’ game will begin at 3 p.m. on March 23, followed by the boys. Proceeds will benefit Access of Wilmington, a nonprofit organization eliminating barriers to health and wellness through sports, recreation and fitness for those in the community living with disabilities.
