2024 Fort Worth Stock Show parade bigger than ever; at least 3,000 horses expected in event

Yeehaw!

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo All Western Parade will be bigger than ever with organizers expecting more than 3,000 horses from across the nation and Mexico to participate in the Jan. 13 event.

“The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo All-Western Parade is really a sight to behold with a wonderful cross section of western tradition combined with a celebration of the city’s strong Charro and Escaramuza culture,” said parade Co-Chairman Phillip Stutts in a news release.

This year’s parade will once again be led by the TCU Horned Frog Marching Band. The parade will pay tribute to the men and women of law enforcement across the state. It features mounted units from the Fort Worth Police Department, the U.S. Border Patrol Rio Grande and Laredo sectors, the Texas Department of Public Safety Capital Police, Dallas County Sheriff’s Posse Reserves, Midland County Sheriff’s Department, Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department and the cities of Arlington, Dallas, Grand Prairie, Lubbock and McKinney.

The 2023 edition of the All-Western Parade drew a record 2,800 horses. Organizers say that record is sure to be broken next month as it kicks off another season of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

A parade has been held since 1898 to kick off the oldest stock show in Fort Worth, formerly known as the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show. The 2024 edition of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo will be held from Jan. 12-Feb. 3.

After a three-year hiatus, the parade came back in January of 2023. It was canceled in 2022 for high winds and in 2021 for COVID.
