Given her wildly successful Eras Tour, concert movie, as well as her high-profile relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, no musician has had a bigger spotlight over the past year than Taylor Swift.
But will the 66th Grammy Awards on Sunday belong to SZA, instead? The 34-year-old R&B and hip-hop star is nominated in nine categories—more than any other artist—for music’s biggest night. They include Album of the Year for SOS and Record of the Year for the album’s most successful single, “Kill Bill.” The latter is also up for Song of the Year, with SZA credited as a writer under her real name, Solána Rowe.
But in order to win one or more of the night’s biggest awards, she’ll have to overcome Swift, who is also nominated in those three categories thanks to her album Midnights and hit song “Anti-Hero.” The 34-year-old received six nominations total, including her record-setting seventh nod for Song of the Year. That’s the most by any artist ever.
Miley Cyrus and Olivia Rodrigo could also have a big night. With six nominations apiece, they will face SZA and Swift in the race for Album, Record, and Song of the Year.
R&B artist Victoria Monét and Phoebe Bridgers’ indie band boygenius are tied behind SZA for the second-most nominations with seven each. Also with six nominations are Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, Billie Eilish, and Brandy Clark. Lana Del Rey, Coco Jones, Tyler Childers, Daniel Nigro, Ludwig Göransson, and 21 Savage each earned five.
Below are the nominees in each of the top four categories, including Best New Artist, as well as viewing info for the Grammys.
How to Watch the Grammy Awards
The Grammy Awards will air from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. The show will also stream on Paramount+, but not all subscribers can watch live.
Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers can stream the ceremony live through the feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service. However, Paramount+ Essential subscribers will have to wait until the day after the Grammys for on-demand access.
Who Is Hosting and Performing at the Grammys?
Comedian and former The Daily Show host Trevor Noah will emcee the ceremony, which features a stacked lineup of musical performances.
The list of already announced performers includes Billy Joel, Burna Boy, Luke Combs, Travis Scott, U2, SZA, and Rodrigo. Barbie stars Dua Lipa and Eilish—respectively nominated for “Dance the Night” and “What Was I Made For?” from the hit 2023 film—will also take the stage.
Nine-time Grammy winner Joni Mitchell, 80, will also sing as she continues her comeback following a 2015 brain aneurysm. She is nominated for Best Folk Album on Sunday.

Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, already won New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards in November. The 39-year-old rising country star released his album Whitsitt Chapel in June and is coming off a successful Backroad Baptism Tour.
Jelly Roll is also the oldest nominee for Best New Artist since Andrea Bocelli, then 40, in 1999. However, he faces stiff competition from Ice Spice. Earlier in 2023, the 24-year-old rapper had more songs reach the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 than any other artist.
Other artists to watch at the 2024 Grammys:
The 2024 ceremony includes three new categories: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording.
Zach Bryan and Chris Stapleton lead country artists with three nominations each. Bryan, whose self-titled album debuted at No. 1 earlier this year, is nominated for Best Country Album, as well as Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “I Remember Everything,” his collaboration with Kacey Musgraves. Stapleton is included in those two categories, as well as Best Country Solo Performance, off the success of his songs “White Horse” and “We Don’t Fight Anymore,” a collaboration with Carly Pearce.
Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, and host Noah are each nominated for Best Comedy Album. Noah has hosted the Grammys the past three years.
Three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep received a nomination in Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recoding for Big Tree. She’ll be competing against actor William Shatner (Boldly Go: Reflections On a Life of Awe and Wonder), Senator Bernie Sanders (It’s OK to Be Angry About Capitalism), former First Lady Michelle Obama (The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times), and music executive Rick Rubin (The Creative Act: A Way of Being).
