2024 Puppy Bowl to showcase adorable pups competing for Lombarky trophy, forever homes

Dog lovers, get ready. From small to big, puppies will take the stage next month, showing their skills for a chance to win awards and meet their forever family.

The Puppy Bowl is set to return this winter, bringing together puppies and kittens, animal shelters, and celebrity guests for a packed show.

The 20th annual competition, held in New York City, will bring together over 100 dogs from across the country in February, with contests, awards, adoption drives, and more.

The televised contest will feature 131 puppies from 73 shelters and rescues in 36 U.S. states and territories. The puppies come from a variety of breeds and mixes, with a DNA test showing their roots. Puppies will be split into two teams, Team Ruff and Team Fluff.

The contest includes Ronnie Stanley of the Baltimore Ravens' dog training rescue foundation, with Linus, a dog supporting those with special needs, and Beignet, who will get a celebrity makeover.

Miranda Lambert's nonprofit MuttNation will feature a senior dog seeking a home, while the singer is set to introduce pets available for adoption. Lambert will show the adoptable pup segments and some kittens from 14 shelters and rescues across the U.S.

The smallest puppy, Sweetpea, weighs 1.7 lbs., while the largest puppy, Levi the Great Dane, weighs 70 lbs.

Warner Bros. Discovery and the Best Friends Animal Society will partner ahead of the show to get animals adopted, matching donations to cover adoption fees for shelters around the U.S. from Feb. 7-14.

Puppies will compete for a chance to win the Lombarky trophy and get adopted by a family. Other rewards include Most Valuable Puppy and the Underdog Award. The contest will also feature the induction of four past players into the Puppy Bowl Hall of Fame.

The Puppy Bowl premieres on Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. with a pre-game show at 1 p.m. The three-hour event will be broadcast on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, Max and Discovery+.
