2024 Spanish Town Mardi Gras Parade: What to know about parking, route, weather
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — For the 44th year, the Spanish Town Mardi Gras parade is set to roll on Saturday, Feb. 10.
The downtown parade is scheduled to start at noon and will last around two to three hours, according to the Society for the Preservation of Lagniappe in Louisiana. The theme for this year’s parade is “Wasted Away in Flamingoville.”
The parade will include eight marching bands and 75 floats. The 2024 Spanish Town royalty consists of a king, queen and grand marshal. This year they are Rob Hagen, Stephanie Perry Breeden and Monalisa Maynard.

Parade route
The parade route starts on Spanish Town Road, turns right on 9th Street, then right on North Street, then left onto Main Street, then right onto Laurel Street, then left onto Florida, then right onto 7th and then right onto Convention before a final right onto River Road
Where to park
Parking for the parade is available in public parking lots, city-parish garages and street parking downtown.
No parking will be allowed along the streets of the route, parade organizers said.
Where to find bathrooms
There will be bathrooms, around 75 portable toilets, available along the parade route.
Parade organizers said the parade will roll rain or shine but the Baton Rouge Police Department has a final say if weather becomes an issue.
