2024 TE Brady Prieskorn commits to Michigan, chooses Wolverines over Ohio State football

Instead of picking Ohio State football, Brady Prieskorn will remain in his home state.

Prieskorn, a four-star tight end out of Rochester, Michigan, announced Tuesday his commitment to Michigan, choosing the Wolverines over finalists Ohio State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Penn State, Georgia and Miami.

Prieskorn is the No. 2 tight end in the 2024 class according to 247Sports' composite rankings behind Florida State commit Landen Thomas, and is the No. 56 player in the country.

Michigan has secured two commitments from the top four in-state players, including four-star safety Jacob Oden out of Harper Woods. Notre Dame has Michigan's top recruit in its 2024 class in quarterback CJ Carr out of Saline.

As a junior at Rochester Adams High School, Prieskorn recorded 648 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 24 receptions.

Ohio State extended its offer to Prieskorn on Feb. 12, 2022 after Michigan offered the tight end Jan. 31.

What's next for Ohio State football at tight end in the 2024 class?

Ohio State already has one tight end spot filled in the 2024 class.

Minutes before the Buckeyes' spring game kicked off April 15, Max LeBlanc, the No. 14 tight end and No. 272 prospect in the class, committed to Ohio State, picking the Buckeyes over Michigan, Tennessee and USC.

But the Buckeyes do not seem to be done at the tight end position.

Ohio State's first commitment of the 2023 class was Tennessee four-star tight end Ty Lockwood before securing four-star Jelani Thurman later in the cycle. Lockwood later ended his commitment to Ohio State and flipped to Alabama.

Even with LeBlanc secured, Ohio State seems to be aiming to secure another tight end in the 2024 class like four-star Glenville High School prospect Damarion Witten.
