21 holiday and Christmas parades in South Jersey

Thanksgiving is nearly here and the winter holidays are close behind.

Some people have their Christmas trees up already and have their shopping completed.

Many towns and boroughs in South Jersey have parades and tree lighting ceremonies a few days or weeks after Thanksgiving.

Some of the holiday parades are as early as Nov. 24.

Here are 21 holiday parades and other festivities in South Jersey:

Barrington Borough Christmas parade

The borough hall tree lighting and Christmas parade will be held on Nov. 24 at 6 p.m.

Sea Isle City Holiday Parade

On Nov. 24 from 6 to 7 p.m. the parade and festivities take place along Landis Avenue and the mayor’s tree lighting ceremony will follow at Excursion Park.

Haddonfield parade and tree lighting

Downtown Haddonfield will host a tree lighting at 6 p.m. on Nov. 24 at Library Point.

The night will include treats as well as songs performed by the Haddonfield High School choir. Santa and Mrs. Claus will then lead a parade from Library Point to Kings Court and will pose for pictures.

Millville Christmas Parade

The parade will be held Nov. 24 at 7 p.m.

The route will start from Harrison Avenue and follow High Street, ending behind City Hall.

Festive floats, fire trucks, marching bands, Santa Claus, antique cars and more will be featured.

Audubon Fire Department’s annual Christmas Parade of Lights

This 35th annual event is Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.

There will be decorated fire apparatus, emergency vehicles, floats and car clubs. Santa Claus will make an appearance and light the town tree.

The parade will start at Paul VI High School and will conclude at the fire department on Merchant Street.

Collingswood Holiday Parade

The annual parade will be held Nov. 25 at 10 a.m.

The parade features marching bands, dancers, holiday characters, giants on stilts, floats, Mummers, sports mascots and live music.

The march begins at Zane Avenue and continueS at West Linden Avenue, travelling through the heart of the borough.

Vineland Christmas Parade

Hundreds of bands, floats, cars and walkers will be part of the Nov. 25 Christmas parade.

The celebration ends with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus arriving in their sleigh float.

The parade is from 5 to 6 p.m. along Landis Avenue.

Pennsauken Holiday Parade

The 42nd annual holiday parade will be held on Nov. 25 at 1 p.m.

The parade marches along Westfield Avenue and features fire engines, holiday-themed floats, musical entertainment and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The holiday parade begins at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Facility on Bethel Ave. and ends at 44th Street.

Swedesboro Christmas parade and tree lighting

On Nov. 25, the parade begins at 1 p.m. It begins on Kings Highway at Walter Hill School and will continue through downtown and end at Church Street.

The tree lighting is at 6:30 p.m. at Borough Hall. It will feature caroling and refreshments will follow the tree lighting.

Mount Holly Christmas tree lighting and parade

On Dec. 1 at 6 p.m., Mount Holly will have its annual tree lighting celebration featuring visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday performances, vendors, the Christmas parade, rides and more.

Mount Laurel Tree lighting and celebration

The township will hold its annual tree lighting on Dec. 3.

For the third year, Mount Laurel is partnering with the Rancocas Woods Business Association for the event.

The event will be held at 118 Creek Road from 5 to 8 p.m. Santa Claus will arrive at 6 p.m. on a Mount Laurel Fire Department truck.

There will be face painting, a beer garden, food trucks, bounce houses, mechanical rides. Hot chocolate will be provided by Four Green Cats Cafe and the local shops will be open.

Ocean City Christmas Parade

The event will be held on Dec. 1 from 6 to 7 p.m.

The parade begins on Asbury Avenue from 6th Street and continues to 11th Street.

Burlington City Holiday Parade

The parade will be held on High Street from 5 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 2.

West Cape May Christmas Parade

The parade is on Dec. 2 from 5 to 6 p.m. and begins at the West Cape May Fire headquarters at 732 Broadway.

Ventnor City Holiday Parade

It’s a fun night out with family and friends.

The parade, on Dec. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m., will travel from Ventnor Avenue from New Haven to Nashville Avenue.

Cape May Christmas Parade

Santa and Mrs. Claus, elves and musicians will be strolling Washington Street Mall, taking pictures and money will also be collected for the Cape May Food Bank.

The parade will take place near the mall from 4 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 2.

Atlantic City Winter Wonderland Parade

The mayor's office of special event presents: Atlantic City Winter Wonderland Parade, December 2 at 10:00 a.m.

The parade route will be along Atlantic Avenue from Albany Avenue to Carolina Avenue.

A meet and greet with Santa Claus and Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr., will follow. A drill team battle with the bands will conclude the day.

The rain date is Dec. 9 at 10 a.m.

The 14th annual Pine Hill Christmas Parade

Hosted by Pine Hill Fire Department and Borough Council of Pine Hill, the parade on Dec. 3 will feature decorated trucks, live holiday music and performances, cash prizes, Christmas floats and finally the tree lighting.

Erial Road closes at 5 p.m. and the parade begins at 6 p.m. at American Legion Post 286 and proceeds through the downtown business district. It ends at Veterans Memorial Park.

Holiday on Haddon, Parade of Lights

The annual Holiday on Haddon celebration is Dec. 6. The parade of lights, sponsored by the Westmont Fire Company No. 1, begins at 7 p.m.

The parade goes down Haddon Avenue to the municipal building.

Decorated trucks, floats, bands, holiday characters and Santa Claus will all make their way to the township tree.

The tree lighting ceremony immediately follows the parade.

Refreshments will then be served at the Westmont Fire Company No. 1 and children can sit on Santa’s lap before he returns to the North Pole.

The township will be collecting unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items for the annual holiday toy drive as well.

The annual Hammonton Fire Department Christmas Parade

The festivities take place on December 9 at 7:00 p.m.

The public is invited to view the parade on Bellevue Ave/Rt.54 from North Liberty Street through Egg Harbor Road.

This year, the theme is “A Country Christmas”.

Evesham Township’s Holiday Light Parade

Evesham Township, Evesham Fire-Rescue and the Evesham Township Police have organized the inaugural Evesham Township Holiday Light Parade on Dec. 15, starting at 7 p.m. on Main Street in Marlton.

Participants will decorate their vehicles with a holiday theme and lights.
