21-year-old dies days after collision in Pasco neighborhood near Road 68

A 21-year-old man has died three days after he was hurt in a car crash in Pasco.

Ramon Rivera Arceo Jr. of Pasco was a passenger in one of the two cars involved in a collision shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.

The wreck happened on Madison Avenue, south of Hartford Drive, in the neighborhood south of Burden Boulevard near Road 68.

Pasco police Sgt. Scott Warren told the Herald the crash is under investigation but that police were not prepared Tuesday to release any information about it.

Jail records show no arrests were made in connection with the crash.

A friend of the family provided the Tri-City Herald with a video showing the crash involving a dark car and a silver SUV. The SUV ended up on top of the car.

It’s unclear which car Rivera Arceo was riding in.

Benton County Coroner Bill Leach said he suffered serious internal injuries and was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. He died on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Rivera Arceo was born in Pasco and lived in Tri-Cities his entire life, according to a death notice. He worked in customer service.

His sister, Litzy Rivera, has organized a GoFundMe to pay for his funeral costs.

“I’m grateful I got to experience you in this lifetime,” she posted. “You were the best little brother I could have asked for. ... You deserved so much more monchies. You deserved the world, dude.”

Donations can be made to the GoFundMe at bit.ly/RiveraArceoFundraiser.

Hillcrest Funerals and Cremation, Pasco, is handling his funeral arrangements.
