A spokesperson with Mayo Clinic confirmed with Action News Jax Thursday that a 210-acre North Campus will be added to the site. The current property sits at 392 acres.

The expansion will take place along W.M. Davis Parkway, northwest of the existing campus.

“In the years to come, our plan will deliver best-in-class facilities, immersive and experimental learning environments, and innovation technology hubs that drive strategic collaborations dedicated to advancing scientific discoveries,” Kevin Punsky, communications manager with Mayo Clinic, said.

Mayo Clinic’s Florida campus has served patients for 37 years.

The additional space would provide room for medical, residential and hotel space.

Mayo Clinic’s campus in Florida started with just 35 physicians and 145 support staff. Today, the campus has about 9,000 employees.

“Mayo Clinic in Florida plans to strategically grow across our 602 acres over the next 100 years, spurring significant economic development and creating thousands of new jobs in the medical sector,” Punsky said.
