22-year-old walking near SeaWorld fatally struck by SUV, troopers say

A pedestrian was hit and killed by an SUV Friday night on a street near SeaWorld Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 22-year-old Orlando man was walking on Central Florida Parkway, approaching International Drive, just after 10:40 p.m. when when he crossed the eastbound lane and stepped in “the direct path” of a Ford Edge, said an FHP crash report.

He was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver and passenger of the SUV, a 41-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman, respectively, were not injured. They are both from Port Orange.

“This crash remains under investigation,” the report said.
