23-year-old seriously injured in single-vehicle crash

Oct. 4—An Iowa man sustained serious injuries following a crash early Wednesday in Atchison County.

Owen L. Hobart, 23, of Hamburg, Iowa, was southbound on U.S. Highway 59 in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado when the truck traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck an embankment at 12:38 a.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

He was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph by Atchison Holt EMS with serious injuries.

Hobart was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
