A 24,000-square-foot, cyberpunk-styled Asian food hall is coming to Queens
An upcoming futuristic Asian food hall is set to spice up the nightlife in Flushing, Queens, in New York City this summer.
The 24,000-square-foot Asian food hall is one of the many projects underway in Tangram, a multi-purpose space with architecture inspired by the traditional Chinese puzzle of its namesake.
The concept behind its interior design marries industrial and cyberpunk styles. The hall will feature concrete, steel, cedar and ceramic textures bathed in heavy neon, along with kinetic lights and disco balls. A massive lava lamp wall leads to a 40-person terrace, recommended for enjoying cocktails while enjoying the views of the city below.
The food hall will include Asian vendors such as Da Wei Mei Shi, Na Tart, Cuncheese and Qing Shu. The food hall design aims to promote Asian culture and cuisine and is influenced by the open-air markets bustling with life in massive metropolises like in Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore.

In the back of the food hall, Hoi Polloi, a Greek expression that means “the people,” will be the neighborhood’s first beer garden. They plan to offer 24 local beers on tap.
Not only will there be a gaming alcove to offer a well-rounded immersive experience, there will also be space to enjoy live entertainment and DJ nights. Guests are also able to hold private events in three different spaces.
