With 24,000 vote lead, Collett appears the winner in voting for 12th Senate District

Democratic incumbent Maria Collett, of Lower Gwynedd appears to have won re-election with a substantial 24,000 vote lead over Republican challenger Rob Davies, a futures trader from Franconia, in the race for the 12th state Senate District.

Once representing a portion of Bucks County, the district is now firmly in eastern Montgomery County, and includes Franconia, Hatfield Township, Horsham, Lower Gwynedd, Lower Moreland, Montgomery, Plymouth, Salford, Upper Dublin, Upper Moreland, Whitpain, Worcester, Ambler, Bryn Athyn, Hatboro, Hatfield Borough, Lansdale, Souderton and part of Telford.

Unofficial election results on Wednesday, had Collett at 76,475 votes to Davies' 51,768, including both votes cast at the polls and by mail-in ballots.

On his website, Davies said he was running for senate "to bring commonsense, practical, conservative solutions to the problems we face."

A former nurse and attorney who has represented the 12th district since 2019, Collett said she would continue to advocate for "safe and legal reproductive health care," including abortion care. She supports mail-in voting as included in Act 77 and an increase in the state's minimum wage.

"My main focus as the state Senator of Pennsylvania’s 12th District is to serve and advocate for the needs of my constituents regardless of their political affiliation or ideologies," she said in Voters Guide responses.
