24 fun restaurants in Rhode Island to get your New Year's Eve or New Year's Day dinner
New Year's Eve is traditionally one of the busiest day and night at restaurants as families, couples and friends gather to say goodbye to one year and hello to a new one.
This year is both different and the same.
There are many choices for dining out across Rhode Island offering elegant and family-style meals. Options include casual a la carte meals as well as multi-course fixed price dinners with wine options.
But the Omicron variant is still looming large in the state and some restaurants have instituted mask mandates when you walk in and for times guests are not eating. A few Providence restaurants require proof of vaccination. If you wonder about those rules, call ahead.
What follows is a list of restaurants with holiday hours for New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. Reservations are strongly suggested where accepted.

Rhode Island restaurants open for New Year's
L'Osteria Ristorante, 1703 Cranston St., Cranston, (401) 943-3140, is open New Year's Eve at 4:30 p.m. and accepting reservations. They will be featuring many dinner specials and the regular menu.
Kin Southern Table + Bar, 71 Washington St., Providence, kinpvd.com, has a four-course fixed price dinner ($85 prepaid, including tax and gratuity) from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 31. Reservations required by calling (401) 537-7470 or emailing gmkid@gmail.com.
Bacaro Restaurant, 262 South Water St., Providence, (401) 751-3700, bacarorestaurant.net, will be open on New Year’s Eve with their regular menu from 5 to 10 p.m.
Fred & Steve’s Steakhouse, at Twin River Casino, 100 Twin River Rd., Lincoln, (401) 475-8400, twinriver.com, has weekend specials for 4 to 11 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31 and 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 1, that includes cheeseboard for two ($39) and entrees including Lobster Sea & Surf ($75), Grilled Rib Eye ($79) or Seafood Extravaganza ($120). They have wine pairing options, too.
Siena Cucina Enoteca (5600 Post Rd., East Greenwich) and Tavola da Siena (400 Putnam Pike, Smithfield), sienari.com, will both be open New Year's Eve for reservations from 4 to 10:30 p.m. They are offering specials (one hot appetizer, one salad, three entrees and one dessert) in addition to their full menu.
Chapel Grille, 3000 Chapel View Blvd., Cranston, (401) 944-4900, chapelgrilleri.com, will serve a holiday menu from 3 to 11 p.m. on New Year's Eve. They will open on New Year's day from 3 to 10 p.m.
Lobster Pot, 119 Hope St., Bristol, (401) 253-9100, lobsterpotri.com, will be open New Years Eve from noon till midnight.
Los Andes, 903 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, (401) 649-4911, losandesri.com, will be open both New Years Eve and New Years Day from 5-9:30 p.m.

The Boat House Waterfront Dining, 227 Schooner Drive, Tiverton, (401) 624-6300, boathousetiverton.com will be open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. both New Years Eve and Day.

Mill’s Tavern, 101 North Main St., (401) 272-3331, millstavernrestaurant.com, will have both an a la carte menu and special prix fixe menu from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The cost for the prix fixe is $65.
Red Stripe, 465 Angell St., (401) 437-6950, redstriperestaurants.com, is open on New Year’s Eve from noon to 10 p.m. with specials including Divver scallops.
