24 Gadsden area players on 2022 All-State baseball teams
Twenty-four Gadsden-area baseball players were named to All-State teams in their respective classifications by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, with 11 earning spots on the first team.
Etowah coach Blake Bone was named the Class 4A coach of the year after leading the Blue Devils to their first championship game since 1996.
Piedmont's Jack Hayes was the Class 3A Player of the Year.

Hayes was joined by teammates Cassius Fairs, Max Hanson and Austin Estes on the first team. Etowah's Caleb Smith and Caleb Freeman; Hokes Bluff's Brayson Hayes; Westbrook Christian's Hugh Windle and Brodiie Self; Spring Garden's Chaz Pope; and Sand Rock's Austin Yonder are also first-team selections.
Second team from Gadsden-area include: Sardis' Carson Gillian; Jacksonville's Dakota Willingham; Piedmont's McClane Mohan; Collinsville's Keaton DeBorard; and Cedar Bluff's Jacob Burleson.
