Here are the top stories in Bedford today:

  1. Tickets for Super Bowl LVI are the most expensive in Super Bowl history. Ticketmaster's least expensive seats started at $6,600 each and go up to $24,000 and higher. SeatGeek said the average price customers paid for tickets on Monday was $10,427, and prices were expected to get much higher. The Los Angeles Rams will face the Cincinnati Bengals at LA's SoFi Stadium on Feb 13. The Rams haven't played in a Super Bowl game at their home stadium in 30 years. Commenting on prices for the Super Bowl game, Adam Budelli, spokesperson for StubHub said, "This is LA. The entertainment capital of the world." You can read more about this story here: (WMUR)

  2. When many people are thinking of sledding, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing on wooded Bedford trails, NHPR Morning Edition host Rick Ganley went surfing at Hampton Beach on a frigid winter day. The NHPR Morning Edition host learned winter surfing to kick off their Radio Field Trips Series for 2022. He was outfitted with a lined wetsuit to help protect against the frigid water, grabbed a surfboard at Cinnamon Rainbows’ surf shop in Hampton Beach, and had his first surfing lesson with owner Dave Cropper in the icy waves. Cropper recommends learning to surf in the summer months but made an exception this time. You can read more about this story here: (NHPR)

  3. Some New Hampshire customers are running out of propane, and many Bedford homes rely on propane for fuel. Carrie Baule of Derry told News 9 that she's on automatic delivery with Amerigas but ran out of propane on Friday and a delivery she was promised on Saturday never came. Officials with the Propane Gas Association of New England said supplies are fine, but winter storms and drivers sick with COVID-19 have caused shortages, saying it's an industry-wide problem. An Amerigas spokesperson said they brought drivers in from other areas and added more trucks. Running out of propane can be dangerous as fumes can continue to fill the home, officials said. Capt. Tim Lavoie, of the Bedford Fire Department, said if you run out of propane to shut off all appliances and your utility shutoff. If someone has an interruption in service, a licensed professional is required to "check the system for leaks" before it can be turned back on, officials said.
