24's Kiefer Sutherland to narrate new Apple TV+ series

24 star Kiefer Sutherland is on board to narrate a new documentary series from Apple TV+.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sutherland is set to narrate a new three-part documentary series for Apple TV+ which explores the death of Beatles band member John Lennon.
In 1980, 40-year-old Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman, who confessed to murdering the singer-songwriter at the entrance to his apartment building in New York City.

The docuseries, which is titled John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial, will look into the investigation that took place following Lennon's murder as well as the conviction of Chapman, who stalked Lennon before shooting him.
Promising some new takes, the documentary will feature previously unseen crime scene photographs as well as some eyewitness interviews. John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial will also include interviews with detectives and prosecutors along with Chapman’s defence lawyers, psychiatrists, and those who knew Lennon.
New material will be presented in the documentary following a series of Freedom of Information Act requests from the New York City Police Department, the district attorney’s office and the board of parole.
Directed by Nick Holt and Rob Coldstream and produced by 72 Films for Apple TV+, the series sees David Glover, Simon Bunney, Mark Raphael and Louis Lee Ray all take on executive producing duties.

When Lennon was shot and killed, he was returning with his wife Yoko Ono to their apartment in the Dakota building which overlooks New York’s Central Park. 43 years after confessing to the murder Chapman remains in New York State prison where he is repeatedly denied parole.
Sutherland is best known for his role in the long-running TV series 24 where he starred as US counter-terrorist federal agent Jack Bauer. He recently starred in the Paramount+ series Rabbit Hole.
