Garlic: a 10-megaton force of flavor capable of taking even the most mundane dishes on a rocket ride to Flavor Town.

In honor of this powerfully pungent, bulbous beauty, the 24th annual South Florida Garlic Fest is here and ready to rock your weekend with garlic-infused goodness.

Taking place Saturday and Sunday at the Village Park Athletics Complex in Wellington, this festival will once again offer up practically every imaginable garlic dish known to man.

There will also be a few unimaginable ones that will stretch your mind and palate in terms of just what can go with what and how culinary rules were meant to be broken.

Some of these delectable garlic dishes will include garlic crab cakes, garlic bruschetta, garlic pizza, garlic Argentine BBQ with garlic black beans and rice, garlic Portobello sandwiches, garlic wings, garlic waffle fries, garlic jerk chicken in a cup and many other delectable dishes…and don’t forget the garlic ice cream or garlic gelato.

Adult beverages from two bars as well as plenty of soft drinks and water will be available for all your thirst-quenching needs.

On Saturday, four musical acts will rock the festival.

Guitarist Eric Hansen will kick things off with his incredible flamenco style at 1:30 p.m. Seriously, be mesmerized by songs like "String Theory" and "Transcendance."

At 3:30 p.m., Cliff Dorsey will bring his country-infused sound to the stage with hits like "If Whiskey Was a Woman" and "Raise One."

Following Cliff Dorsey at 5:30 p.m. will be the Southern Rock band Steel'n Peaches and their "raddest rock n' roll revue of the Allman Brothers Band on planet Earth."

Then at 7:30 p.m., with a catalog of hit songs including "Makin' Me Look Good Again," "Livin' the Dream" and "Mix "Em with Whiskey," headliner Drake White will take the stage.

Sunday's soundscape will feature three hot musical acts.

The Melina Soochan Trio will perform at 11 a.m. Playing piano since the age of 4 and performing live for 15 years, this singer/songwriter weaves thoughtful lyrics through a rich soundscape.

The Friday at Five Band goes on at 1 p.m. Get to rock to everything from Van Halen and Led Zeppelin to Pink, Pat Benatar, The Killers and more.

Closing out the event will be the powerful, soulful sounds of the Valerie Tyson Band. With jazz, R&B, classic rock, Top 40 and so much more, they can take the sting out of realizing it's Sunday and tomorrow's Monday.
