25-year-old arrested for sexual contact with minor in Sioux Falls, court documents show

A man was booked Tuesday into the Minnehaha County Jail for a warrant involving sexual contact with a minor.

Brandon Asa Craig, 25, from Sioux Falls, is being held on a $250,000 bond after his arrest regarding allegations of sexual crimes involving minors.

The incident was reported on Feb. 9, when a 59-year-old man told police his now 12-year-old granddaughter had been sexually assaulted from summer 2019 through 2021, according to court documents.

In a Child's Voice interview, the victim reported she was "molested" by Craig, during the time the suspect was dating the victim's mother.

Child's Voice in Sioux Falls is a nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center, providing medical evaluations for victims of abuse and neglect, according to the center's website.

The victim told detectives Craig made her touch his genitals once or two times a week, and he touched hers, according to court documents.

Craig was booked into jail at about noon Tuesday, and hasn't had his initial court appearance scheduled. He's facing four counts of sexual contact with a minor under 16.

If he's found guilty of his charges, Craig could be sent to prison for up to 10 years and get a $25,000 fine.
