Bangkok’s gay nightlife exploded last month when GCircuit Songkran (SK2023), the largest circuit event in all of Asia, returned after a three-year pandemic-induced hiatus.

Under the theme of “The Bing Bang,” GCircuit brought some of the world’s best DJs to Thailand’s capital for four nights of parties at the Bangkok Convention Center and two daytime pool parties at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel

Since 2007, GCircuit has amplified Bangkok’s reputation as an LGBTQ-welcoming destination. Taking place during Songkran, the Thai New Year holiday, SK2023 welcomed 6,000 guests every night and over 1,000 guests to each pool party.

“It’s been three years since our last big Songkran festival. We wanted to do something extra special with our first SK post pandemic… and as hoped for, the event was a smashing success and we came back with the biggest bang!” said GCirucit co-founder Tom Tan.

This year also marked the return of the Out Adventures Songkran Water Festival tour, after its own pandemic break. The LGBTQ+ travel company organized a 10-day tour throughout Thailand—visiting Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai and coordinating its conclusion in Bangkok, just in time for guests to join the GCircuit festivities.
