26 area student/athletes announce their college intentions
A number of area athletes announced their college intentions Wednesday with some big names confirming earlier decisions.
Cardinal Mooney Catholic volleyball standout Jordyn Byrd will attend the University of Texas.
A host of Lakewood Ranch High softball players made their decisions firm with Cassidy McLellan heading to the University of Florida and Addyson Bruneman going to the University of North Florida.
Cardinal Mooney’s Michaela Mattes, Sarasota High’s Evan Kehoe and Venice High’s Amadeusz Knop all announced they would swim for the Gators.
Sarasota state champion swimmer Liam Heary is going to Auburn. The Sailors’ Alec Miller is going to run for Florida.
Charlotte High girls basketball player D’Yanis Jimenez announced she will be heading to the University of Wisconsin.
