Lightning has struck again for Oxnard's Liquor Cellar.

The South Oxnard convenience store sold the winning lottery ticket for Wednesday's $27 million SuperLotto Plus jackpot.

Liquor Cellar owner Camel Yobi Yobe said the ticket is one of multiple winning lottery tickets sold at his store in at least six years, with prizes ranging from several thousand dollars to several million.

Yobi Yobe said a regular customer returned to the store Thursday morning with the winning ticket, but California lottery officials hadn't identified the winner.

The store owner said the apparent winner was in disbelief when he arrived.

"He didn't believe it," Yobi Yobe said. "After talking for 20 minutes, it finally set in. It's a lot of money, especially for one person."

The winner has 180 days to claim the prize, said Jorge De La Cruz, assistant deputy director with the California Lottery.

Liquor Cellar is known for its luck.

In 2017, the store sold a $20 Black Premium Scratcher worth $5 million. Until Wednesday, that had been the highest sum won at Liquor Cellar, Yobi Yobe said.

The store's reputation of selling winning tickets has increased the number of customers and sales, he said. The store also gets a bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Allan’s Market Wine & Lotto in nearby Port Hueneme is also lucky. California Lottery officials have called the convenience store one of the biggest sellers of $1 million-plus jackpots.
