28K winning Match 6 lottery tickets sold in PA for Thursday drawing — including a jackpot

A lucky player in Dauphin County recently purchased a jackpot-winning Match 6 Lotto ticket worth approximately $530,000, the Pennsylvania Lottery said Friday.

The winning ticket matched all six numbers selected in Thursday’s drawing. The winning numbers were 5, 7, 19, 24, 30 and 30.

The Turkey Hill convenience store, located at 240 Hershey Road in Hummelstown, earned a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, the lottery said.

Match 6 Lotto winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes, per state lottery rules. Winners are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket and contact the Pennsylvania Lottery for help filing a claim at the nearest lottery office.

Winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated, the Pennsylvania Lottery said.

Match 6 Lotto tasks players with choosing six numbers between 1 and 49 in addition to another two sets of six numbers generated by a computer, totaling 18 numbers. Players can win up to four times on each ticket, the lottery says.

More than 28,200 other Match 6 Lotto tickets also won prizes in Thursday’s drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery said. As such, players are encouraged to check their tickets every time.

The overall chances of hitting a jackpot through Match 6 Lotto in base play — by matching all six numbers in one line — are about 1 in 4.66 million, the Pennsylvania Lottery says. Correctly choosing 10 of the 18 total numbers can earn a $2,500 prize with odds of about 1 in 597,303.

Players in Pennsylvania can take several steps to limit their gambling. The state lottery recommends setting budgets online, scheduling cool-off periods or self-excluding from online games, among other strategies.
