Previous attempts to fund the proposed stadium have failed to secure funding, the latest of which came up short when a proposed new tax district was shot down by previous District 9 board member Donald Aguillard in August.

“I am grateful for the hard work and collaboration of every individual who contributed to this achievement,” Hidalgo said. “Together, we have turned promises into tangible results, marking a new era for District 9.”
