3.6 magnitude earthquake hits northern Illinois

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a magnitude 3.6 earthquake hit Standard, Illinois, about 100 miles south of the Wisconsin border, early Wednesday morning.

The earthquake had a depth of 4.6 kilometers, which is about three miles.

The earthquake was reported at 4:41 a.m.

The earthquake happened just over 100 miles from Wisconsin's southern border with Illinois, but the National Weather Service is not reporting that it was felt in Wisconsin.
