Here are the 3 best places to find a cinnamon roll in the Hilton Head area this fall

Hungry for one of the season’s best fall treats? Cinnamon rolls are a staple throughout the country during this time of year.

Several bakeries and restaurants on the island and the surrounding areas have much talked about baked goods, including the fall-favorite cinnamon roll.

Here are the three best places to grab a cinnamon roll in the Hilton Head area this year, according to a Restaurant Guru list that was updated for autumn 2023.

Palmetto Dunes General Store

The much-acclaimed Palmetto Dunes General Store cinnamon rolls were ranked as the best on the list for Hilton Head Island. Earlier this month, the popular locale celebrated National Cinnamon Roll Month with their favored treat at the Palmetto Dunes establishment, found at 1 Trent Jones Lane. The general store is open daily but the kitchen is open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Palmetto Dunes General Store has been a “Hilton Head Institution” since 1979 with multiple awards including Best General Store and Best Fried Chicken in Hilton Head, according to the website.

The Sugaree

Located in Bluffton, The Sugaree is a breakfast and lunch establishment found at 142 Burnt Church Road. Serving both baked goods and lunch specialties, guests will find a little bit of everything they could desire. The Sugaree is open Tuesday through Saturday for varying hours and opens at 6 a.m. each day.

The establishment serves a variety of breakfast and lunch favorites as well as snack goods. Pecan buns, donuts and even lobster rolls are named on the menu.

Hilton Head Social Bakery

The Hilton Head Social Bakery is a popular bakery on the island that recently opened its second location due to its soaring popularity. Named by Yelp and several other publications as the best bakery in the state, the Social Bakery has received a number of local and statewide accolades.

Hilton Head Social Bakery can be found at both 17 Harbourside Lane and 1018 William Hilton Parkway on Wednesdays through Sundays and opens at 8 a.m. each day. The Social Bakery is locally owned by award-winning chef Philippe Feret and his wife.

Aside from the top three popular local destinations, the Harbour Town Bakery & Cafe, Carolina Coffee & Crumbs, The G-Free Spot, Bad Biscuit and other favored establishments also made the list.
