3 Bloomington area farmers' markets open Saturday for 2023 season

The Bloomington Winter Farmers' Market has closed for the season, but many of the vendors who participated will be setting up booths at the Woolery Mill Farmers' Market and the Bloomington Community Farmers' Market, both of which open on Saturday. Bloomington also has a third farmers' market, the People's Coop Market that remains open on Saturday as well. Here are the details on each:

Bloomington Community Farmers' Market

HOURS: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays beginning April 1

LOCATION: Showers Commons, 401 N. Morton St.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND: Area farmers will sell their locally grown food (from carrots to meats and eggs), seeds and plants, and food and beverage artisans offering prepared food and drinks. There will also be entertainment and informational booths.

Woolery Mill Farmers' Market

HOURS: 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays beginning April 1

LOCATION: Woolery Mill front lot at 2250 W. Sunstone Drive

WHAT YOU WILL FIND: Area farmers selling local produce, meat, Alaskan salmon, dairy, eggs and prepared food vendors selling baked goods, breads, coffee, teas and more. There's live music, a picnic area and free parking. Dogs are welcome.

People's Cooperative Market

HOURS: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays

LOCATION: 2420 E. Third St. in the fellowship hall at First United Church

WHAT YOU WILL FIND: Locally raised meats and vegetables, prepared foods and baked goods, plants, seeds and home remedy herbal products.
