3-car accident sends woman to hospital

Jan. 19—WILLIMANTIC — A 47 year- old female Coventry resident was transported to the hospital following a three- car accident on Columbia Ave. Monday afternoon.

According to Willimantic Fire Chief Marc Scrivener, the accident happened at 114 Columbia Ave. and was reported at 12: 06 p. m.

He said the patient, who was driving a 2018 Nissan Rogue, had minor complaints of pain and was transported to Windham Community Memorial Hospital by a Windham ambulance.

There were no other injuries or requests for medical care.

Scrivener said the vehicles rear- ended each other.

In addition to Willimantic firefighters, Willimantic police responded to the accident.

The other vehicles involved in the accident were a 2011 Hyundai Sonata with Oklahoma plates and a 2018 Honda Civic. Scrivener said the vehicles had " minor to moderate" front end and rear- end damage.

He said the Nissan Rogue had an anti- freeze leak that was covered with less than a gallon of Speedi- Dry, a granular clay absorbent that soaks up all traces of oil and grease.

Scrivener said firefighters were on scene by 12: 10 p. m. and left the scene at 12: 41 p. m.
