3 David’s Bridal stores closing in Massachusetts

David’s Bridal is closing three of its six locations in Massachusetts after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year.

The wedding dress retailer is shuttering stores in Danvers, Dartmouth, and Natick, according to its website.

The locations in Danvers and Natick had a posted message that read, “Store closing. Shop huge savings while they last! Call for special order status.” The Dartmouth location had a posted message that read, “Store closing in late June. Shop huge savings while they last! Call for special orders. ALL SALES FINAL.”

In April, David’s announced that it was laying off more than 9,000 of its 11,000 employees due to inflation, a shift in trends, and competition from online retailers and secondhand stores.

“An increasing number of brides are opting for less traditional wedding attire, including thrift wedding dresses,” David’s Bridal said

Despite the bankruptcy filing, David’s vowed to “remain relentlessly focused on serving our customers.”
