3 dead in Montana casino shooting; suspect killed by police

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – A pre-dawn shooting at a Montana casino Tuesday left three people dead and another person injured, police said.

The suspect was later tracked down and killed by police, officials said.

Just after 2 a.m. Tuesday, dispatchers received a 911 call requesting assistance to the Emerald City Casino, the Great Falls Police Department said.

Paramedics found three victims deceased inside the casino.

A fourth victim was located a short time later, and that person is being treated at Benefis Health System, officials said.

Investigators began a search for the suspect, who was fatally shot by police at approximately 5:45 a.m. in the area, police said.

According to the Great Falls Public Schools Facebook page, Lincoln Elementary School was closed Tuesday because of the incident's proximity to the school.
