3 dead after single-vehicle crash in Manitowoc County

TOWNSHIP OF EATON – Three people have died after a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of County C and State 67 in Manitowoc County Wednesday night.

Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies and emergency responders responded to the intersection in the township of Eaton shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The release said preliminary investigation indicates a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt was heading west on County C and failed to stop at a stop sign at a “T” intersection with County C and State 67. The vehicle proceeded through the intersection, entered the west ditch of State 67 and collided with a pole barn, the release said.

The male driver, a female passenger and a male passenger were all pronounced dead at the scene. None of their names was released.

The sheriff’s office said no further information would be immediately released and the crash remains under investigation. Wisconsin State Patrol was completing a reconstruction of the crash as part of the investigation.
